In this week’s I/CAN / TBO Nonpartisan Accountability Session, area Candidates who have chosen to attend will share their stances and commitment to some/all of the Issues in the I/CAN / TBO Family Action Agenda.  You will leave the Accountability Session more informed than when you came.  Then the choice and vote are yours, to decide whom to represent and serve you in elected office.  We with the privilege to vote should do so, as a civic and moral imperative:  It is our responsibility to speak on behalf of those in our community who have no voice in the ballots — our undocumented neighbors and/or relatives, our children, our poor neighbors, our essential workers, our Dreamers/ DACA youth, and all the most vulnerable in our Communities.

The I/CAN / TBO Accountability Session is not your regular unilateral election rally, where candidates alone speak to manipulate our anxieties and fears — Ours is a relational session, where candidates listen and commit to us, the people they want to serve. We will ask every candidate to respond to issues in the Family Action Agenda by saying, “Yes,” or “No” — then each will have time to explain their answer.
